My Second 1694 Elephant Token

    1694 Elephant Token

    Hey everyone,

    Here is another Elephant Token. This one is interesting though... the damage you see on both the obverse and reverse is what I believe to be PRE-MINT damage, NOT post! Why? Well if you look at the close up picture I took, you will see the PRE of the word PRESERVE lightly printed on the coin. If it were post mint damage, the lettering would not be there.

    That's a neat coin. Can you post info about it? Where is it from? Mintage? Value?

    Nice addition Ryan. Probably was just a faulty planchet.

    Thanks Mark. And yea I hope we're right on the planchet, but would like other people's opinions on it just to see what they think might of happened.
