I have not or I most certainly would have posted it as you have!

What do the rest of the coins details look like?

IMG_0765.JPG IMG_0777.JPG Here are a couple more.. I would have to take another look at the coin as I don't recall if if has doubling eleswhere. Take a look at the sandal, for it has strong doubling.

That looks like a real doubled die to me.

Yes, this is very common on ASE, I have a few myself. You are correct it is machine doubling.

Keep in mind that since these coins are struck al least twice, that there could have been slight vertical movement between the strikes. I have a double struck IKE that all the experts state MDO until I pointed out the unobvious requiring them to look closer.

I would like to see the rest of the coin such as the motto, each Letter in LIBERTY, liberties head, breast, thigh. (Yes, its starting to sound perverse but you know what I mean.)

It is totally possible that there is more going on with this Silver Eagle than what the assumptions are implying and IMO, the coin needs a closer look.

19Lyds, I will check out my 1992 Eagles to see if there is any more doubling. This may take a while but I will post my findings when I am finished.
