This is my newest proof added to my collection. It is a 1937 PR66RD in a PCGS holder. These coins are getting harder and harder to find in higher grades. With a low mintage of only 9,320, the demand outways the supply. In this grade, there are only 160 graded as a 66 with 10 higher. Let me know what yall think.
Thanks guys. I was very very happy when I was able to pick this one up. The smudge is on the holder not the coin. And yes Green, I love these proof Lincolns. They are just beautiful coins, especially when they are cameo.
Thanks guys, I am always in the market for a nice proof lincoln. The other day I just happened to get a call from a lady about one of my ads on craigslist. She asked me if i bought all coins or just silver. Of course, I said i buy all coins. She told me what she had. It was a 1939 PF66RD lincoln graded by PCGS that was part of her husbands collection who had recently passed. I asked her if she new what she wanted and her response was, "It is only a penny so it cant be worth more than $5 or $10." I asked her if I could come over and look at her whole collection. She let me. The next day I met with the lady to look at the collection. Sheasked me if I wanted the Lincoln and i told her I did but I could not give her the $10 that she wanted. I told her the coin was worth more than that. I ended up giving her $275 which I thought was fair for the coin. I also got her in touch with a friend of mine who is more experienced in the rest of the collection and will not take advantage of her. Her husbands collection really had no direction so there were coins from every denomination. The lady was so happy about the purchase and was shocked to find ot that the cent was worth that and was even more shocked that I had told her. I feel that what goes around comes around and it will come back to me 10X. I would want someone to do the same for my wife after i go.
