I have accumulated lots of notes through searching with serial numbers that have 4 of the same number in a row. I was wondering if these would bring any premium, or if there needs to be more than 4 in a row to do that. Most of the notes that i have that are like this are unc to lightly circulated, and maybe a few heavily circulated. So would these bring premiums? (I'm guessing if so only the higher grades would) or should i just toss em back and look for 5 or more and starts, ladder, etc. As always much thanks!
Posting a pic would help! But generally speaking interesting sets of numbers Such as repeaters or radars will bring a nice premium and others if There deemed rare 4 numbers in a row wouldnt fall in to that caragory Unless there was something that people would find extraordinary!
Yup, unless you have a binary repeater like: 44441111 then it might be worth something. Or if it was a radar as well, like: 11444411 Otherwise, I'd spend it. edit: heres my only example of a note I've kept that has repeating numbers. But it's because it has 5, plus another of the same number also in the serial
Just picked this up at a show today, since it looked rather nifty: And it only cost me $5, so even six-in-a-row doesn't seem to bring more than a very small premium.... (The scan looks nicer than the note; it's no better than VF.)
Does this qualify as any type of "fancy serial"? I'm new at this and just started paying attention. L62006000C I also picked these two up at work today L80880880C C08766666A
The second one will definitely bring a few extra bucks. Eights are considered lucky in certain Asian cultures. How much more would depend on condition. If the serial number had been a radar, it would be substantially higher. The last note is a partial descending ladder number. It might bring a few extra dollars. Again, condition is everything.
They are all VFish, it's hard to find nice ones at work. So the first one I might as well use to buy a better note? Thank you for your help and advice btw Is it worth keeping stars in the same condition? Would they command any premium at all? I found one yesterday John
I replaced the 62006000 note today with 50064444, I liked the 4 4's. I'll probably replace it too though given the chance.
since we are on the topic is there a premium for this note? Is there a guide book for stuff like this?
