I was offered these: http://hesmarketing.com/gdcheetah.html at $1500 each. Supposedly they are "2002 prices" Do coins this new have any appreciable numismatic value? SD
$1500 for each set of four coins? They are pretty cool looking coins. I've actually never seen them before.
If I'm reading the chart right, doesn't it come with one each of what they call Full, Half, Quarter and Tenth? In that case, it'd be about 1.85 ounces.
You're reading it right. But that is still a bit pricey IMO. Coins like that have no numismatic value to speak of, and you are paying about 1/3 more than the gold value. So if you like the design that much that you are willing to pay a 33% premium for the coins - works for me.
Standard67,if I were you, you'd be better off buying 1/10 Krugerrand coins.I have got 2 of these - 1984 & 1999.The 1/10 Krugerrand has Coert Steynburg's springbok design, which first appeared on the South African 1947 Royal Visit 5/- crown. The Royal Visit 5/- has no indication of being a commemorative coin, but the obverse is the giveaway.King George VI's title is given as 'GEORGIVS VI REX IMPERATOR' (GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR), which refers to the fact that King George VI was the last Emperor of India.
