I was counting a till today when this quarter jumped out at me. The obverse and reverse are both off int he same spot. The rim is the weirdest part IMO. Half of it is un-reeded. Then it transitions into almost totally reeded back to no reed again. On the parts that are half-reeded, the unreeded half overhangs the reeded half, if that makes any sense. I had trouble getting a picture of it b/c I only have two hands. Any opinions would be appreciated. :)
    Thanks,
    Tyler

looks like a broadstrike, but your comment about the reeding makes no sense.

    how about a picture.

There's a couple photos of the reeding on there but I'll try to get a better one that shows what I'm talking about.

Partial collar or tilted partial collar error. From the pictures I'm leaning toward tilted partial collar.

Ok. I'm not much of an errors guy. Don't ever intend to be either. But what exactly does that mean? And any premium (it was in my girlfriend's till and she wants to know if we can retire yet lol)?

"Collar" refers to the retaining ring that establishes the final diameter of a struck coin. In the case of this quarter, the collar was not fully deployed and was slightly tilted. Value is no more than $10.

Nice find, I agree with Mike, a collar error.

It is a partial collar strike. The coin was not fully in the collar (which gives the coin its reeded edge) when it was struck, which is why the coin is only partially reeded. It's worth around $5-$15. Nice find!
