I have just aquired several rolls of bu bright red beautiful wheaties from 1954-1959 some p/d/s mints. Is there a market for the rolls or would they sell better individually? What would be a fair price for the rolls?
Much faster to sell them by the roll. Figure around $5 - $7 for 1956 - 1958, more for 1954 and 1955, depending on the exact date and mint mark. ACE Mike
The seller and the type of the roll it is determines the value premium. Some sellers have built reputations of a middleman, buying bulk collections of bank rolls and reselling as such. Others pick out the best and package the rest. So if your rolls are loose in a plastic tube or modern paper wrapping, they will get minimum as they are not scarce ( except for your roll of 1959 wheaties ( yes, I know it was a typo and I am j/kidding). Ace is pretty close, but you can check ebay also. I think the 1955-PDS are good picking if original, I have paid over $15 for a roll from an "original" dealer. There are various threads on how to determine if the roll looks original or re-wrapped as paper and crimping tool are inexpensive and available to fool newbies.
LOL! 1959 wheaties are very rare indeed!Maybe they should go on ebay!!!!And yes I do have 56 and 57 and 58d's.
