I wanted to keep a running list of the cents I have and what I still need. I decided to do this on here to maybe spark some conversation :)

My wife bought me 5 50 cent rolls for $3 a piece. Don't know if thats a good deal but it was better than Ebay :)

Send me a PM , I have some of the ones you need for free, if you are interested. I have saved hundreds of most dates by checking bags of 5,000 wheats. I know I have a 47-S, 49-S and a 54-S.

This is the only single coin purchase I have bought thus far. All the rest were found in rolls, bags and jars :)

Nice man, cool to see you saved your first purchase for a real nice one!
If Kirk doesn't mind I have a few Wheats I could send your way as well. I'm sure you could fill a lot of missing holes if we both sent some your way.

Once you get them all you will want to start getting them in better grades from there you will drive yourself nuts for not doing that in the first place..trust me I know :)

That is a pretty good mix. Not too shabby on the price either. My local B&M does rolls for 2.50. And he does not search them unless when somebody brings them in you can see bu's in the piles. We actually discussed it at length one day as while i was there a guy brought in a BIG tupperware container full. Dealer paid 2 cents each. He was actually not thrilled because the container had many full red wheaties, and he knew he was going to have to go through that lot. I told him i would have a blast searching through them. His reply " sure you would maybe the first two times."

THANKS. I was stoked when I saw it. The coin dealer sold it to me for $25. From the looks of it, it is worth more being a MS64RB graded by PCGS.

Thanks for the PM, I replied to you as well as Kirk :)

Probably just need to put my whole inventory on here so you can see what you would like to trade for. I am all down for trading :)

Ya, i can see how how that will drive me nuts. However, I am so excited about doing this that I actually enjoy looking at cents and going through them as much as I enjoy finding one I need. I am trying to learn as much as I can about them :)

oh one thing I forgot in my last post.

I am apart of many forums including cars, video games, cycling, etc.

I am completely astonished on how nice and helpful this forum's members are. I have been on for just one week and already you guys are willing to help my collection grow. This never happens on any other forum I belong too.

I was ready to put my flame suit on cause my 1909 wasn't a MS68RD :)
But you guys are nice and very helpful and it makes me want to keep doing this for a very long time.

Hopefully as my collection grows I can pay it forward to other newbie collectors :)

    Thanks
    Leon

Great start! I've got a pile of wheats as well. No keys but I may be able to fill a few spaces or give you a few upgrades. Keep us up to date with what you need.

I am torn between buying single coins that I need or just searching for them like I have been. Honestly I have fun searching for them in rolls and bags. But I also know that is going to take along time :)

Nothing wrong with that. I coin-roll hunt and buy sacks of wheats to go through. Not only do I find dates that I need, there are also errors and varieties. I also enjoy the "thrill of the hunt".:thumb:

If your interested in some of the tougher dates that you probably won't find roll searching, just give me a PM and I'll send them your way...
