It weighs 4g but looks Copper-Nickel to me? any idea if the Krause guide got the weights backwards or is the 5 Cent I have Nickel-Brass?

According to Krause, You could tell the difference by the thickness of the coin. The Cu-Ni (1923-38) was 5g 1.6mm thick and the Ni-brass (1938-9) was 4g 1.3mm thick.

Measuring the 0.3 mm difference would be very difficult I would presume, since we are talking the difference of only 6x the width of a human hair :) most rulers smallest measurements are only 1.0 mm, so it is going to look about 1.5mm by the eye and than you are just guessing if it is slightly under 1.5 or over?

See if anyone you know have either a dial caliper or a micrometer, both are common machinist measuring tools and are capable of measuring in accuracy of much greater than the .3 mm difference.
