Wow, that actually worked! That was the first time I reported anybody on ebay. Thanks to all you who confirmed my suspicion that he was selling fakes. I watch trimes quite a bit, so if he tries to sell those years again on ebay (under a different ID of course), I will probably see them.

I have learned a lot about coins since I started collecting a year ago, but some of those fakes are getting really good. So good that when I see rare dates on ebay, I just assume they are fake. Especially if they are handling the bare coin to take pictures of it... coins that rare and expensive should be slabbed or in protective storage.

 

Oh, by the way his ebay account is kevintheredseller. It is still active right now... guess we see what happens. He owes a lot of people a refund!!!!

once a month the antique warehouse here in saginaw opens its parking lot to people so they can sell craft or anything collectible. He came in May and I happend to be at the local coin store when this older man I talk to alot comes in excited about some gold pieces he had just purchased. Apparently he was selling them for the sticker prices his dad had paid on them way back when. store owner weighed them and they were way off. So June rolls around and I went to see if he had the guts to come back. Sure enough there was someone there with lots of key dates in BU condition. I called the shop owner who had already turned the fake gold over to the state police and the state police came out grabbed all the coins and took him away. I know that people over 45 minutes away (Grand Blanc) purchased from this group (apparently the guy I saw was a different guy)

I talked to a police officer thats regular at the shop and he said that they got the guy behind it all and that I dont have to worry about having to go to court
