July 4th ..... er .... Independence Day tribute:

    America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
    From sea to shining sea

The Declaration of Independence in part says ..... And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance of the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other out Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor. Those "signers" were such farsighted, magnificent men!

A most hearty salute to all who served on Lady Liberty's Team.

To those who stood in harms way: Godspeed, brothers, Godspeed.

It's funny, we go every year to the Whiting Indiana 4th of July parade. Whiting is the home of the Whiting BP oil refinery. A highlight of the parade each year is the dozen or so fire trucks from the neighboring towns. Absent this year was the fleet of bright yellow trucks from the BP Refinery.

Was that coin dealer there, that wouldn't let you pick up the coin? You should've gone up and said "hi".

That's just sad [sorry] about the BP firetrucks sitting-out the parade this year. I want that company to stay in business, to keep providing the petro products that fuel our home of the free and the brave, and, of course, to sustain the cash flow necessary to fund the cleanup. I'm buying BP, all that I can.

My roof supports solar hot water and PV panels so that my meter runs backwards during the day, but I continue to remain convinced that our nation required a "drill baby drill" policy for the remainder of my lifetime.

As stated this AM on the ArmyParatrooper.org website ..... Kick a Brit in the butt and then buy him a beer. I'm still LOL at that one.
