A lot of this guys coins look to good to be true... especially the trimes... I am still a rookie, so let me know what you guys think. By the way, I am NOT bidding on any of these.

He has already sold quite a few, and a lot of them just do not look right to me. Unfortunately, most of them have sold for a LOT of money. So, if they are fake those people really got ripped off.

FAKE! The V nickel and the wheatie are unquestionably fake. I'm not familiar with the trime enough to be sure.

    Hamman,

What gives the wheatie away? I am not very good at spotting errors on fakes wheat cents.

I don't like the date on the trime. I can't see the "D" in United well enough.

He has several trimes up... and they are all well under 20,000 mintage... yet they all look to be in about the same condition. Those are just tooo tough of dates to have something like that happen. The 1912-d liberty nickel has serious doubling on the reverse.

Look at the coin as a whole. Notice how weak and muddy the bust is, but how strong the lettering is. If it was a weak strike both would be affected. Also look at the date and mintmark, it looks fishy.

Yeah, all the coins he has up look very similar in grade and color... the trimes all look alike, liberty nickels, Indian head cents, and both wheat cents. People are paying a LOT for them too... ouch. I sent a message to ebay, but considering the time left I am not sure what if anything will be done. To have all those EXTREMELY rare trimes up on ebay is fishy all by itself. The 1867, 68, and 69 trime all have a mintage below 5,000!!! I love the three cent piece, and when I seen those I immediately gave serious attention.

Those 3 centers don't even look silver to me.
The V nickel is very obviously fake, way off, esp the date, and the bust is not centered.

Ugh, it makes me feel sick to think that those people just paid a LOT of money for fake coins.

I searched on completed listings for an 1867 Trime, and he sold one today and another one on June 26th. The odds of having two of that date in the same condition... almost impossible. There were only 4,000 1867 trimes minted. I really, really hope ebay does something... he is evil!!!!

I'm starting to think everything is fake on ebay is fake. The other day a guy was selling a 1909 s vdb so I looked up his ratings on past sales. He had sold about 20-30 1909-s vdb's in the last couple months. That seemd really odd to me!

No offence to any of you hard core ebayer's out there but i stay away from it totally and stuff like this totally makes me ill. People work hard for their money and scammers like this guy take it easily. I wouldnt buy any raw coins of ebay anyways.

The clear give away on the 1909s vdb is the "N" in United. It should be a little fat in the valley. That coin is definately a fake.

Try looking up a1928-P Peace dollar, There are 90% fakes listed. I need one, but I'm not getting it from ebay. I don't even trust the slabbed ones.

I just looked at his recent sales by going thru his feedback. What a crook and what a bunch of unknowledgeable buyers. Check out the 1872 IHC that engineer bought. Very sad.

Dont report his listings!!!!!! Im going to buy one and hand it over to the FBI. All reporting him will do is force him to make a new alias

Anybody notice over 10 pages of positive feedbacks from the same seller? thats how the boost there rating and make buyers feel better about things

I am curious. Have you done this in the past? If so, what were the results?

locally - do you mean he was an ebayer living in tri cities or was he a local at say a flea market or something? Have you already posted about this in the past? If so, could you please steer me to the story. Thanks.
