Was going somewhere with my girlfriend, in her daughters car, when I noticed a lot of coins in the console. Of course I had to look through them. Lo and behold, a 2010 shield. Then once I got home, my neighbor caught me outside and asked if I had seen the new penny. So 2 in one day, but the neighbor kept hers lol.
Nice, although I get them regularly. Guess some places they are just more spread out than others... Congrats.
I wish I got any change regularly lol. Since I use plastic mostly there's not a lot of coins floating around to go through.
I'm just starting to find them semi-frequently in change here in NYC. I'm sure they are out there, just not being handed many yet in transactions and when I do get them, they seem fresh out of rolls.
I was in vegas and 2010 pennies, nickels and dimes were available. I did hit the jackpot and got my first 2009 nickels when I cashed a ticket with .50 on it. Got 10 2009 nickels. Still no 2009 dimes.
I got a whole roll from the liquior barn I don't know where they get their coins but they also got all the LP1-4 coins before I could get them anywhere else
I was in Puerto Rico in February and received a few in change down there. I'm glad they made a change but the shield is not that inspiring.
I just went through a box oc cents and pulled 2 more new string rolls of them and about 150 from the other rolls. Am starting to find some 2009 P;s but they are hard. With the mintage numbers as high as they are, I am really hoping I have a roll of really messed up coins. Progressive die cracks, rotated hubs or something, LOL
You've got to be kidding! I've already seen a couple of hundred in California, Arizona and New Mexico.
I arrived in Colorado Springs a week ago to take a grading course in the ANA session one. Having been a day early I decided to walk around the Colorado College campus. On the way back to the dormitory I stopped in at a 7-11 for a few supplies and in change I got 3 shiney new 2010-D shields. I thought it quite fitting that I found my first two blocks from ANA Headquarters.
I still haven't seen any in my own change, though I was visiting my parents over last weekend and my dad had found a few (all Philadelphia -- parents live in Ohio).
i think i would hold onto them, coins from the future usually carry a premium :goofer: i get about 1 shield cent per transaction. i ended up getting a new roll of them the other day. i love the design!
I got three 2010-D dimes at toll booths in Illinois. I still haven't seen a 2009-P or D dime or for that matter nickel.
I am in Vegas and have gotten the dime and nickle in change. But every time I bought boxes of cents lately, there have been new string rolls of the 2010 D. Thinking of opening and searching for errors ?
