Just received my new notes in the mail and I'm really impressed with the quality. I bought a few of the Antarctica notes, a Slovakia (20) Millennium Issue 2000 note, and the two notes in the previous posts. The Chinese one is in far better shape than the one the seller had posted.

Nice to find an ebay seller that provides worry-free products.

Thanks, Rick and connor1. I was inspired by mpcusa's collection when I stumbled across the British ones. I've bought a few others as well. Different from the U.S. ones with their Armed Forces imagery but still an interesting look to it.

Outstanding colors on that 1 pound. I recently added a similar China note to my collection too ikandiggit.

I guess we got it from the same seller (yuri) because I use the same pic but mine is a different serial number.

I've seen those Chinese notes before and always wondered what a "Customs Gold Unit" was. Any answers?

    This is from wikipedia:

The customs gold unit (CGU) was a currency issued by the Central Bank of China between 1930 and 1948. In Chinese, the name of the currency was 關金圓, literally "customs gold yuan" but the English name given on the back of the notes was "customs gold unit". It was divided into 100 cents (關金分). As the name suggests, this currency was initially used for customs payments, but in 1942 it was put into general circulation for use by the public at 20 times its face value in terms of the first Chinese yuan.

Got these in today - While there are many aspects of these notes that I like, there seems to be a trend for many countries to pack almost too many objects into a note with deep primary colors and to have center images that seem to be reduced quality, monotone photographs. Otherwise they are nice and appealing, but I'm wondering how many countries will jump on this particular design theme.

^^ i like the first and second and also the last two! i am going to take a short maybe month break on coins and get some more paper money. its really starting to appeal to me.

there are a few american notes that i am looking at. my most wanted is some of that plastic Australian money. i don't think it will be to expensive, we shall see!

i posted this note already in another thread, but figured i would share it here. its a common year, but not a common series. its actually in a 3 way tie for lowest run of that year(640,000). to bad its worn bad :(.
