Peru : 1/2 Sol 1971 - Crack

    Hi,

    As you can see there is a spit on "Sol" by a llama :)

    My question is about the reverse... is the word "RESERVA" is a strike error or an after mint damage?

    Reserva is just from a weak strike

    I like the design of that coin. Never seen one before. I think that lettering is obliterated due to grease, water or some kind of crud clogging the die. These strike thrus are often seen on 2 cent pieces and sometimes on the early Indian Cents.

    Yes this coin is very beautiful, and spit on "Sol" by the llama add something different :smile
