Just received an 1810 Classic Head half cent.

I also have an 1809 coming but it's about a month away.
It's in NGC. Looking for it to come back as AU-something.

Very nice! I'm a bit of a half cent collector myself. Which die variety is your 1809?

Nice...I don't collect them, but I sure like the look of the old coppers.

Looks like a very nice 30 to me.

Is that luster that I spy on the reverse?

The one coming is the "normal" variety.
I already have the 1809/6 (or "9 over inverted 9").
It's the "small o inside O" that I'm missing. I've seen one but the grade was so high that it was well outside my price range. Maybe I can cherrypick one (Not)!?

I also need the two 1811 varieties plus the 1828 13-star variety.
I use the Red Book to determine what varieties to collect.

There is just a touch of Mint red around the letters but not to the extent that you see in the image.
The image "red" is ~90% exposure enhancement by the camera.

That is a nice coin Kanga. It is a date I do not have.

Don't forget to show us your 1811 C-1 and C-2 when you get them!

If I may ask, do you have the 1802/0 draped bust half cent in your collection?

I've got my source for the two 1811's.
They'll be bought one at a time probably over a period of one year.
I'm thinking VF is the best I can afford for them.
I believe the planchets for the 1811's generally tend towards being a bit rough.
The planchet for my 1810 looks fine to the eye and at 3x, but it gets a bit "grainy" at 9x. And what I originally thought were flow lines I've now changed my thinking to die polishing.

    Nope, no 1802/0.
My only Draped Bust half cent is a common variety 1806.
Or at least I think it's a common variety.
    It's for my type set.
I've got two half cent books, Breen and Manley, so I should be able to ID the variety exactly.
