heres a few I got a long time ago, not so certain on the ex. First one I'm I'm pretty sureis CONSA in the ex The 2nd not to sure [CO]NSH dot in ex. h or a I found an example of a CONSA and a CONSH dot. and they both look the same lol. any ideas?
I really see nothing at all certain on these dark images but tend to believe more open top A's get read as H's than the other way around and there are some I just can't read with certainty.
The key is to remember that the same engraver probably did the entire die. So compare the mystery letter with A's in other parts of the legend to figure it out.
Personally, I have to vote "abstain." I can't tell from the single photo of the top one--always have this issue--so I usually take numerous photos of the same coin in different lighting...try to zoom in. Comments above make me think A, plus your opinion, having seen it in hand, weigh more than the static photo, but it looks H-ish at first. Ardatirion's comment is interesting--will have to remember. The second one--Is that an H? Or a Greek character? Again, I guess your naked eye may be better than the technology (or single photo) in this case. In any case, cool pair. I like that, having a group that are so similar with the one or two details different.
