110% Natural mint set toning. I have a few from that date with similar color. 1958 D's can tone some wild colors. Without a doubt the best date for toned franklins with 1957 coming in a close second
Those are beautiful! Reminds me of a few that one of my friends known as Chameleon Coins had a while back. Did you take those pictures?
My setup is nothing special at all. I use 2 desk lamps with 100w reveal bulbs in each one. My camera is a Nikon coolpix L20. Its a cheap camera and does a good job to give an idea what kind of color a coin has but it tends to make the color look a bit mushy. Many coins that i photo that have nice rainbow bands the camera doesnt show them as they would appear in hand. For editing all i use is photoscape in order to crop the photo roundly and to put the obverse and reverse together as one. After i fill in the white area via photoshop with the black paint can.
I use two halogen lamps, a crappy Exlim Casio camera, and Photoscape as well. Two peas in the same pod eh? Still not getting my photos to turn out that good, but they are alright for now. Thanks for sharing!
You have some pics you have done you can post here? Maybe say what you think is wrong with the pic and ill see if i can help you out
Thanks man, I've already read it before and it's really helpful! My only problem is getting the obverse and reverse to be the same size.
Those are both beautiful naturally toned mint set coins. The first one is really nice, but looks alot like many others. The second one is outstanding - the blue and purple crescent at the bottom is very unusual. I like it a lot!
I think I finally have a setup that works for Axial Lighting. I moved the setup sideways so i didn't knock everything over every time I wanted to adjust the light. Anyway, this is a shot from a 1962 Whitman Folder. It is a coin I would consider ruined by tarnish and corrosion. Am I right?
