    Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a few mylar 2X2's for some miscellaneous large cents I have. I see 2X2's on the site I'm already ordering some coin books from for pretty much everything BUT large cents. My question is: which is closest? Will 2X2's for 'small dollars' (Sacagawea/ SBA/ Presidential ones) work? The diameter of large cents is 27.5 mm while the diameter of the small dollars is 26.5. The next size up is the large dollars at 38.1 mm.

    thanks

I use half dollar holders as halves are 30.61 mm. It is a little loose, but not too bad. Hope this helps. :)

Or just think of going with safety flips. Maybe I am an oddball here, but I like to handle my coins sometimes, so I chafe at secured 2x2's, and the thought of a slab drives me insane. I have bought 5 slabs, and immediately cracked them as soon as I got home. Safety flips are secure, and lots of space to document details about your coin, and still allow access.

And yes, I no longer collect US coins due to the market moving so strongly to slabs. I collect ancients now, where most coins placed in slabs are broken out by knowledgable collectors.

Thanks for the input folks. They are currently in safety flips and i'm preparing to move, so I want everything in a folder in 2X2's, for now.

    Cheers
