I purchased these coins. What are your thoughts on the deal? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT
You didn't do too bad on that. There are a few nice looking coins in that lot. 41 90% silver quarters is priced around $140 dollars. Hopefully over time the price will go up making your investment worthwhile. Overall nice pickup
Thanks I am glad to hear that. Following the same formula I used to purchase those coins, I purchased others. $400 worth. I was planning on just taking the ones I needed for my collection, and then reselling them. Do you think it is possible to make a profit on them?
Look closely, I believe that 4 of those quarters are clad, and not silver. Including the 5th one in the first (vertical) row, which is a bi-centennial. The 2nd piece in the 6th (vertical) row, plus the last 2 in the last (vertical) row.
Well I sure hope not! They are all listed as Silver, and the dates are said to range to 1964. Very bad Ebayer if they are not.
another one i got. this is probably a better "looking" deal, simply because of the cases. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260624109268&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
While it is possible that this is an accident, there are many who would do this just to increase their profit by $13 and be perfectly willing to refund your money knowing that the hastle of returning over $13 worth of coins reduces probable returns to about 10%. Not that this is what they're doing, but others have and still do. Maybe they'll spot them when packaging and replace them with silver.
A very bad eBayer, oh no! This must be the first one of those ever! There is a money back guarantee so you can always just return the item and blast him with a neutral or negative feedback, all depending on how he handles the situation.
