i was going through a bucket of coins from my grandmother and found this half a wheat cent. i would put money it is some sort of pmd, but wanted to make sure. the last picture with my finger is to show how it has a rim. i have only been collecting for a few months so this may be common, but i never seen it. so try and go easy on me!
Often coins with these types of rims occur because they were in a rotating container such as a clothes dryer. The rotational force causes the rim. It appears that the obverse of the cent also shows rotational damage, and may have been against the back of the drum. Yes, PMD IMO. Jim
I agree that it is PMD, but nothing so complicated as what Jim is saying. Someone merely stuck it in a lathe. You can still see the turning circles on it.
