I started moving some of my coins around and figured I'ld post some pictures.

Morgans really aren't my thing but this is my 1886S.
Can you give me some help with the grade and value for this one?

PS: getting better with the camera but somehow when I took it outside to try getting better shots of the coloring they came out much better. anyway the coin is darker in hand.

I would say EF 45 and that the coin has been retoned, But thats me.

Could always grade it yourself... :D http://www.cointalk.com/t115123/

Just joshin' with ya. Although I'd be more than delighted for you to take a look at that thread, and try to grade some of your own coins, might be a neat learning exercise. ;)

I'd say your coin is spot on with Steve's guess of EF-45. The reverse also appears to have semi-PL fields in some of the shots, but the obverse doesn't, don't think it will add that much value, since it isn't fully proof like.

As for value $90-$130 is retail, if you were to sell on eBay you might get somewhere in that range.

Going by photos is always problematic as to accuracy, but I see nothing to indicate that the color/tone isn't anything but "Market acceptable", and would be somewhat of a premium for the coin. Also it appears more AU to me. IMO. That is a coin I would be happy to have if I were you. Don't do anything to the surfaces.

    Thanks Guys.

I was guessing around EF or AU. Just wasn't sure.

I saw your post yesterday after posting this. Looks really useful so I've bookmarked it for when I get around the the rest of the Morgans.

I was afraid the toning might hart the value on this one. Any idea how mush of a premium it might have?
Its mostly just dark but depending on how you hold it its got a faint purplish and greenish tint.

And don't worry I won't do anything to it. I just stuck the coin in an airtite hoping it might help keep it from getting any darker in the future.

Nice tone, looks like end of roll toning. Looks XF-AU, I'd say value between $65-$75.

The toning won't add anything to the value, and I'm inclined to agree with Steve's assessment of the grade.
