coin rolls from mint?

If I go to my local coin dealer (supposedly the largest in the region) and buy a roll of pennies, how do I know that it came from the mint instead of him having already searched through it for DD and the likes? I recently bought rolls of the new 4-coin series lincoln cents and they were tightly rolled inward on both sides, but one roll has the reverse visible on both sides of it. I was wondering if this is an indication that the roll has been "searched" or do they sometimes just get that way from the mint. Thankyou

Rolls can be either heads/tails, heads/heads or tails/tails, it's all random. One never knows if rolls have been searched, as a dealer or anyone, may have a rolling machine. However, it's unlikely the Bicentennial Lincolns have been searched (but you never know).
