This dollar jumped out at me because I thought it had some nice toning. It’s in a problem-free, ANACS new-style holder. If you try to guess the grade & you are correct, then you will have bragging rights tomorrow at lunch. IMO, it is one of those coins that have a “but” on it. It is a nice coin “but” Liberty has a tick on the chin. I like to think that I am a good photographer but the credit for this photo should go to my relatively new Canon PowerShot camera. I simply set the lighting function to “florescent” and hand-held the camera at my desk with only florescent overhead lighting. The only manipulation in Adobe was to crop the photos. Therefore, these photos are courtesy of the Canon SD1300IS. Thanks for letting me share & I’ll post the slab tomorrow.
I would agree with MS64. It appears to have decent luster from the photos and the only real significant mark is on the chin.
I would give this a 64 (I gave it that grade before I read the 2nd and 3rd posts) because it has good luster and appears to have very very lite signs of handling
That nick on the chin almost makes it a 'problem' coin for me, and definitely not one I would even come close to buying. I think ANACS gave it a MS65, as for me, I'd go with MS64.
I will say that ANACS gave it a 65. I would give it 64 due to hit on chin, neck, etc. Great coin. I am a big fan of the 1927 Peace as a sleeper coin. TC
just keeping the thread high on the page Here is the same photo with white colored background. It is precisely the same coin photograph.
Im going to have to say ms63 although that probaby means ANACS ms64. Before i go and read the rest of the thread let me say nice coin. Hard to find these cartwheels with original toning.
Whys everybody bagging on Anacs? I actually have coins that have upgraded in NGC holders that were in ANACS holders......they are kind of older holders but ANACS has its good traits.
I think everyone is referring to the "new" ANACS. Their reputation has suffered over the last couple of years. The old ANACS was better, but you shouldn't generalize about upgrades or downgrades from the old company. Chris
