Who has the best pre-sell deals for the 2006 ASE?

Any predictions on what this coin will do?

Based on previous ones, if they keep to normal mintages, the uncirculated will stick to about melt value, unless certified in a high condition (69 or 70), and the proof will stay around double or triple melt value, unless especially rare.

Basically this coin will do whatever silver does.

I imagine platinum eagles will do more, as they're pretty rare... the one ounce is usually minted at only around 5000 a year (somewhat more for the smaller ones) and has a new reverse design every year. They'd be a decent investment even if platinum hangs where it's at or even drops.

The gold and silver ones are nice designs, and an easy way to invest in gold or silver... but nothing separates one minted this year from next year or last year, except the date stamped on it. Pardon my pessimism, lol... but it's hard for me to get too excited about them, after I've bought 2 or 3. I may get a proof silver one eventually, maybe a gold one, but after that don't see the point in getting more, except as a token precious medal investment. Numismatically they don't excite me much after I have one of each. Love the coin... but I don't get excited over having one year rather than another.

For the record I currently own one each of 1988, 1990, and 1999 silver eagles uncirculated (which seems to me to be a redundant term, except to distinguish them from proofs, as these are not intended to circualte anyway. Though my 1990 was given to me as if it were a $1 coin, lol...). The 1988 early in m coin collecting days and the 1999 I bought on a whim because I saw a good deal on it.

Hmm... I've seen ads that claim they're selling them for $7.95... but when I follow the link and go to their site to actually order one, they're listed at $12.95.

Anyone know what the deal is here?

I didn't see any '06's but even so, its not that simple. They have a minimum order of about $100.00 under which they had a decent fee to the bill. And they'll only sell one.

I ordered from mintproducts on 11/03. Got 10 for 9.99 each with free shipping. Looks like the price has gone up a bit. Still appears to be the cheapest.

I'm going to go ahead ad order 2 rolls from them. $220 a roll is pretyy good at this point. Anybody disagree?

Well I went ahead and ordered 40 coins (2 rolls), it cost me 441.?? and change. I used my Pay Pal credit card and got 1% cash back so I saved another $4.42 on my order! SWEET!

Guess so, but if I'm spending $220 on coins I want something other than 20 of the same one, lol.

The right move is frequently the hard move to make. All of us would like a shot at silver a few dollars lower than current prices, but that's just not reality. Silver looks high and is high, but it isn't as high as it looks and won't look high in retrospect a few years from now. My personal opinion is that 40 troy ounces of silver is a pretty nice thing to own.

I'm hoping to sort through them and keep the 20 best coins for myself and sell the other 20 on E-bay. If I make a dollar per coin I would be happy!
