I'm just getting started into collecting and of the world coins and older US coins, I have these two coins: one is a one shilling coin from 1856 and the other is one cent from Nova Scotia from 1861. Do they have value yet or save them for the grand kids? thanks for everyone's help.

The first one, the shilling of William the Fourth is actually dated 1836. William IV died in 1838, the year Queen Victoria became Queen.

And I concur, save them for the Grandchildren.

I got quite a bit of coins from my dad who get them from his grandpa. I can't tell you how much I love each and every single coin. It is always important to pass things like this down, I would've loved to have those in my collection had they been passed down. ;)

Thanks for the great answers. It's pretty cool to learn great stuff about these coin and this whole site. I will be passing them onto the grandkids, hoping they take up the interest.:)
