A coworker brought me in today a complete Franklin half set. I would say the condition is between AU-58 to MS-61 maybe a couple of 62's. I am very interested in buying the coins but how do I determine a fair price?
Do I take the price listed on the PCGS or numismedia web site and take a percentage of that? Or is another way that would be fair to both of us?

While this may not be fair to the coin dealer why not suggest the coworker take the set to a local coin dealer and pay him slightly more than the dealer's offer.

That's a great idea because the coworker will see how little a dealer will pay and be glad to get a little bit more from you.

Raw Franklins are going anywhere from 10-13x face each, and I've seen asking prices as high as 15x face.

I would start an offer of $4.50 each and go from there.

4.50 each!! thats a lot less than silver value, and these aren't junk coins

    Yes,
I agree $4.50 is low. I was thinking along the lines of $6.50 - $7.00 with the keys being more.

My dealer that I go to sells full sets for 590 fine to au for 520.If it was me and I wanted the set bad enough I would make an offer around 475 to 425.Franklins are a nice set I made 2 of them already an ngc set all ms64an above and a raw set.
