I got this 1981s SBA recently and was wondering if it was type 1 or 2. Here are the pics Sorry for blurryness (scanner broken), Front Close up Thanks for reading All help is appreciated :smile
"no way to say", but based on what little I know of this market, the SBA's aren't that much more valuable than face. But they are fun to collect. Ruben
Maybe I am missing something here, but both type I and type II are clear "S"'s for 1981 and that looks like a type I to me.
Ok, it looks like a 1981 type 1, which is the same as a 1979 type 2. Look on page 228 of the 2011 redbook. It gives a value of $10.00 in PF65. The type 2 is the rare one in 1981 at $225.00 in PF65. But as said before, we can't tell the grade from those pics.
Also, I noticed on the holder BU and Deep Cameo. Is it a proof? It looks like a business strike to me, but it could be the pics. The type 1 and 2 in 1981 is only listed under proof strikes. I'm unsure what type the business strikes were. They were only released in mint sets.
Yes it its a proof. I will try to get better pics up as soon as possible (im on vacation ). I think it was nicked thou cause theres a little dot on her neck and on the eagle chest.:crying:
Finally back into coins Im in school so i havent been able to get on often sorry i just took pics hope this is better my cam suks
Just guessing, but I would say that it is not your camera that is the problem, but the operator. It is really hard to hold a camera still enough to take a close up picture. You need a stand or something to still you camera. You are pushing the limits of my eyes/monitor, but I think that is type I also.
ah ok. i really hoped for a type 2. my camera wont zoom in any closer and that is alrdy in a X10 loope but i think it might be me too. Can any1 post a pic of a type 2 so i know what it looks like? Thanks
You don't need closer, you need stiller. Your picture is big enough to tell, but it is too blurry/out of focus. As for your picture, look here; http://lincolncentresource.com/San_Fransisco_Mintmark_Styles.html
