Don't all coins have the date imprinted on them?

I have a $1 sac coin without the date on it. Is this normal?

Have you checked the edge of the coin? I believe the newest Sacs have the date on the edge where the reeding would be on other coins.

Nothing on the edges.... It looks the same as a 2000 sac I have, except for the pic on the back - It has what looks like a guy farming

Hmmm...as you can tell, modern coinage is not my strong point. It sounds as though you have a 2009 Sac with the Native American theme reverse that has the date on the edge. Since you have no date on the edge it would seem to me that the coin might have missed the edge lettering process or might have been damaged after leaving the mint. If it is an edge lettering error then it would have some real value, though again I am not up to date on what it would be worth.

Are you absolutely positive there is no date on the edge? Is there any lettering at all?
I'm pretty sure there are some of these known to exist, although I can't find anything on eBay or Heritage.
Can you post pics of the edge?

Georger, you need a new loupe if you see a guy on the reverse of that Sakie. That image is supposed to depict an Indian maiden sewing maze.

Was she making a corncob quilt?

were did you get this coin?

the reverse does not sound familiar at all?

and are you sure its a coin and not some sort of token or medal, that just used the sac obverse?

Is this the reverse design on the coin in question? If so, it depicts a native American maiden sowing (not sewing) seeds. The date is on the edge of the coin.
