My wife hates me to go to Stop and Shop in my town, They have a coin star and I went today. Checked the reject slot and found a silver dime (1960-D). Thats like finding a dollar at the current silver rate. That machine seems to reject any silver coin. Dean 295
That's funny because I just recently discovered this trick and I thought I was the only one who was onto it. I found two Canadian dimes so far but I've only tried it twice.
Just learning to hunt there Glad you pointed such opportunity. But I seem to be finding such as this.......
About knee level One I check seem to be About knee level. Center of the the machine in the front. Far from hidden.
i need to try this. most people around here, will keep taking the coin out of the reject tray and putting it back in the machine. they finally give up and throw it into the little trash can beside the machine.. so maybe take a little look into the garbage bin next to it. nobody throws real garbage in it, its there for discarding your bags or whatever you bring your coins in. so its not that nasty, but will take a few weird looks for some silver!
thanks for the tip. I see them all over town. I am going to start checking them. There is one at my credit union that rejects half dollars.
Just got back from superfresh, and in the coinstar reject slot i found 1995 200 pesos columbia 1998 Botswana 5 thebe odd shaped coin with 7 sides. Im not really into world stuff, but some neat finds for free!
People just forget to look in the slot that rejects the coins. I just check the slots and usualy there's a couple wheat cents in there. It is a great way to start a collection.
After reading this thread, I went down to the local grocery store and checked the reject slot. Sure enough, I found a Canadian Millennium quarter. I was so excited because I have been trying to find them. Thanks so much for the tip.
