i came into a little money again and decided i would put it more towards my type set. i first started by looking at barber pieces. i only found a 1912 D half (which had some reverse damage) and a 1892 quarter which were at all a decent grade. since i didnt want a damaged coin i got the quarter - going to say VF35 based on photograde. the 2nd one i picked was a 1942 WLH with a perfect strike and some obverse toning. i must have spent 30 minutes looking at other ms WLH before narrowing it to 5 and eventually to this 1. for my third choice i was looking at some peace dollars but decided i have enough for the moment and wanted another look at large cents. since i had a pretty good idea of the draped busts and classic head decided i would spend a little more time on the later dates. it was looking grim that i would find a well detailed one for the money i had left but then i saw it. a solid 1840 which im going to say XF45 (photograde not much help) with about a 40 degree die rotation. these 3 together ran me a little over 150. im extremely proud of these latest 3.

    any comments/opinions welcomed.

Hi lugia, that's a nice threesome. The Walker appeals to me with the nice rim toning and tons of luster. Does the 1840 cent actually have the purplish-red color, or is that just the way the photo came out?

its mostly a rust color with some brown and verdigris/dirt spots. i probably used them 2 pics because they were the sharpest but the color is not always accurate.
