Wow! What a find!! Lucky fella. I have always loved those Swiss 20 CHF coins. The girl on the obverse is quite beautiful.
my favorite coin from kaosleeroy108 i think that my most favorite coin would be my 1988 rosevelt 10 cent off plancetted dime.. the first error i found myself.. i have 2 more coins but i think there more common than my 1988 dime and they are my 1955 and 1972 type 1 ddo's both common..another that is not a coin but medal is of the his holiness the 14 dalai lama medal
Pretty cool find. I still have never found a US error coin in my life. I found an Argentina 1937 20 centavos with a very noticeable doubled die obverse.... but that's the only true error coin I have found. I have come across several mexican coins with lamination and such though.
Okay, well it's extremely hard to see the doubling on the Argentine 20 centavos in the pics I have taken, I can't quite get close enough to show it. But it is most noticeable on one of the stars, but there is doubling on the letters as well.... but one needs magnification to see it well. and here is one of my Mexican lamination error coins. It's a 1969 cinco centavos. The lamination is pretty obvious.
Thanks! I like the reverse, too. In a way, it reminds me of the 1915 Pan Pac. I really should get it slabbed regardless of its value. By the way, welcome to the neighborhood! Chris
Groaty to the max If you ask me next week, I'll probably have a different answer, but this week my favorite is this 4 pence maundy coin from the Newtonian Universe:
The cost of a coin is not the purpose. Its the love of the coin. I'll take my indians and wheats any day. I'll put up some pics when I figure this site out. I have a few on the album site. You all have some beautiful coins makes me want to go buy some foreign stuff.
