Folks - Can anyone recommend a reference source for attributing "Isle of Man" pence and halfpence for the period of 1722-1733? I have a hard copy of Philip Nelson's 1903 book entitled The Coinage of William Wood, 1722-1733, however, as you can can see from an online copy of the book, the chapter on Isle of Man is very scant for definitive attributing. There was a good sized book on the coinage of William Wood published within the past few years. I think it was published by C4. Anyway I saw a copy of it in John Burns inventory at the Cincinnati show weekend before last. I don't know if it has anything on the Isle of Man. You can try dropping him a line and ask about it at JohnH.Burns@comcast.net Found the title THE HIBERNIA COINAGE OF WILLIAM WOOD' BY SYD MARTIN so it may not have anything on the Isle of Man. It came out in late 2007. Cost $90 when it came out, not sure what it would be today. Charlie Davis is still listing a copy at $90.
Thanks Conder. I have this book; It is by Martin and published by C4. I bought it about a year ago for that exact price. It is a terrific book, but it is indeed limited to Hibernia Coinage.
