There is no name on it, But there is a small little globe in the bottom left. Thanks for helping a newbie. :goofer:
It was slabbed by the person that owned the coin... If your looking for one like that I have a 1916D merc that is SELF GRADED a AU55 You want it...it's cheap for the grade but there are no returns...lol
You see this all the time on eBay. There are lots of people who sell these so-called slabs, acting as reputable authentication/grading services. If you're gonna buy authenticated/graded coins, stick with NGC or PCGS, at least for the big buys. Even then, you have to be careful of counterfeit NGC and PCGS holders.
Ahhhhhhh, Thanks fellas. My brother gave this to me, Now at least I know and can list it on ebay honestly with the information you have provided. Thanks again. Ive just recently started to collect slabbed coins and am going to stick with pcgs or ngc. So this coin goes bye bye.
i have seen those empty "slabs" for sale. i like the black and the person did a nice job with the label. it looks good, but whats up with the serial number? i would like to know the story on how they came up with it and if it even means anything.
Yeah, it even has a barcode on the back of it. Thats why I guess it really confused me that it was self slabbed.
