not true im a tile tile contractor and i get paid when the job is done they dont pay i lean there house and im not talking about little jobs $50 to $100,000 or more they have coins valued at way more then what is owed to them and its not even the fact that they take your money up front its the wait it says 21 days and thats what i payed for not 5 weeks HIRE MORE GRADERS TO MEET YOUR DEAD LINE that i payed for when i do a job i tell my customer 2 weeks then it gets done in two weeks not five or i get back charged so if i have to bring in more guys to meet the dead line then thats what i do its call customer service you know keep them happy so refure you my submission went from 21 day to 30 days to 32 days and this sound like the norm they should hire more graders they dont care because there are on top and the money is just pouring in but whenand if that starts to slip you'll see them care a little more and the turn around time will be faster
You apparently don't understand how they count days. First of all they only count business days - that means 5 days a week. So their 21 days is 4 weeks and 1 day, minimum. The number can grow depending on the day the coins arrived. Secondly, they also do not count the days when there are coin shows that the graders are attending. When a show is going on and NGC is there, the graders are at the show. So it is possible that several more days will be added to the wait you experience, maybe as many as 8 - 10. Thirdly - the waiting period is not guaranteed, only estimated. All of this is explained in detail on the TPG web sites, people just don't take the time to read it.
Hello, Following this thread, for years I stuck to raw coins and while Ill never have enough coins its time for me to get my coins slabed, and I have almost no experience with the TPG's other then everyone says NGC is best. I have completed the morgan dollar series, no I dont have the 95S, and I want to send the entire collection in to the same TPG so the collection has uniformity. Also Im afraid if I wind up road pizza or something else happens to me my wife and sons will be at the mercy of the potential buyers as they have no interest in coins despite my best efforts. Any guidance on submitting whole collections? Thanks Steve
Hi steve, I have no experience with sending coins in but i saw a video on youtube on how PCGS grades their coins directly from the owner and founder of PCGS. In my opinion PCGS is a little bit better than NGC but thats my opinion. I wouldnt go with ANACS thought because HSN sends like alot of their coins to them like thousands and thousands at one time, and actions like that can tie graders up and make common mistakes. All this is just my opinion though.
Hello Hunt1 Thanks for your imput. I am really curious to hear from all the big players around here because as I mentioned I want to send in the whole collection at once and be done with it. I want to pay the fee do the preparation just one time. Steve
ANACS 5 days [results in 3 days] Just an update on my 5 day submissions to ANACS. I submitted the coins to a rep Sunday June 13th at a coin show. The ANACS website says they got the coins in Colorado Tuesday afternoon June 15th. Today, this afternoon they posted my grades on the website and shipped the coins. I do not have the actual coins yet but have my grading results. They had the coins a total of three days folks and they are on the way back to me. By the way I am very pleased with the grades. So I know I am the only member here who believes in ANACS. That's ok because if nobody else uses them I can get my coins back super fast!
ANACS does have easyer submission in my opinion though, no member fee's or clubs, which is why HSN does bulk quanity grading with them.
Im not concerned about the turnaround time. They can take all the time they need. I just want it done right. Steve
well i did read the site and do understand its working days thats what love about this forums tunnels vision
If you look in the coin magazines and on ebay, PCGS and NGC participate in this first struck-first day-place of ceremony -MS-70-modern mint stuff with fancy label as well as any. I seriously doubt if any of PCGS or NGC's primo graders are grading bulk submission of current ASE,AGE, State or Park quarters, proofs, etc. I would put the beginner graders on these as usually the recepients can't tell or don't care as long as the label says all of the above. IMO.
That maybe true but HSN sends way more thought i think. And thats just one company, imagine all the other dealers or mass sellers that want cheap, easy, fast submissions. Anacs is where they go probably. Plus alot of people here have been saying Anacs has gone down hill in the last couple years.
Hats off to Victor Victor, I admire the way you stick to your guns about ANACS. And about your last post where you say you get your coins back quicker because of it was beautiful. I havent ruled them out yet buy any means. Steve
Steve, Whether you choose NGC (Florida) or PCGS (California) is up to you, but those two are the best and have been for many, many years. NGC charges more for their best membership (Elite), but charges less on the grading fee and gives you an additional 10% discount on the basic fee. As part of the NGC membership fee, you also receive a certificate for 5 free submissions; with PCGS' best membership, you receive a certificate for 8 free submissions. NGC has four submission tiers under which you can submit your Morgans: Economy - for coins valued at less than $300 EarlyBird - for coins valued at $3,000 or less Express - for coins valued at $10,000 or less WalkThrough - for coins valued at $100,000 or less Without knowing the grades of your key dates and semi-key dates, it still sounds like your submission, if you choose to use NGC, could be complicated with so many coins possibly falling under different tiers. It would be best if you called NGC, 800-642-2646, and discussed the best way to handle it. Scott Schechter is the Vice President of Operations. VAM's NGC only attributes Top 100 and Hot 50 VAM's; PCGS only attributes the aforementioned plus the Hit List 40 (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on PCGS), but you would have to pay an additional fee for attribution. Unfortunately, I can't give you any further information about PCGS. I hope this helps. Chris
