what would be the rough value of a 1914 $10 bill in "circulated" condition A guy on craigslist has one for $35 I dont know what version of the note it is and he hasnt yet sent a picture I would pick it up in person if I decide to buy it so is unlikely to scam me Your advice appreciated
We would need pics to be able to judge and give an answer. See if you can get one from the lister. If you have asked and he hasn't sent one, I would be wary.
Many factors including condition and who signed it are all factors in Determining value, posting a pic would help!
I've bought off craigslist a number of times and b/c it's free, sometimes you will run into flakes on there. If he don't send you a pic, it could just mean that he's really down on his luck and don't own a camera. Offer him $20 bucks and see what kind of response you get. Of course you would have to use the non-offensive approach. LIke say, I know your bill may totally be worth more money but all I have is a $20, can we do business and btw: is there a reason why you haven't sent me a pic yet? He may be honest with you, you never know until you ask. BTW: You can get an idea how much it's worth by looking on ebay.
I did go check out the bill it was in pretty bad shape However he had a 1928 F series $2 in good condition Red seal United States Note I also bought a 1926 P a 1946 P a 1946 D dimes and a steel 1943 P cent from him Total $10 so I was pleased with the deal
