found this one in grandma's pile once again. It first read 186? and then i guess I did what they call "acid restoring". I'm pretty sure it was worthless without the specific date so i just figured there would be nothing to lose by doing this. It still seems a bit hard to read so i'd like some advice on what you think the date is and possibly how much i'd get for it.... or i'd just keep it pics Front http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u186/sandrock86/CIMG0968.jpg Reverse http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u186/sandrock86/CIMG0969.jpg Date close up http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u186/sandrock86/CIMG0966.jpg thanks
i can't confirm 100% that the date ends in a 6 from those pictures. imo, its either a 5 or 6. in hand i am sure it would be easier to tell. someone with more experience with this series will be able to identify it, i am sure of that! if its a '66, because that is what it looks like to you in hand, i would probably just keep it. in "G" condition i have seen these around $35-$45. i have personally never seen one for sale in less condition other then ebay. the way yours is, i could possibly see it selling for $15-$20 at the most but wouldn't be surprised if it went for $10. those are ebay sales and jump all over the place. its a cool coin and its from your grandmother, that is why i would keep it!
hehe i've got a lot of coins from grandma seems like too many to keep. Got an auction going for 20 mercury coins and still have left over which i will keep lol
