i really can't help with the first coin, but..

the second coin is a "morgan dollar". bigger pictures would help to give it a fair grade and price. from what i see it looks to be au and worth $25-$35. there are different variety with this coin, that i am not familiar with, but someone on here will be.

so don't go out and buy/sell this coin on my first stab at it! i just wanted to give you a quick response and some info on it.

also is there are nick on the edge of the coin around 11 o'clock? or is that the light playing tricks?

they are both nice looking coins..

The second coin is a morgan dollar minted from 1878 to 1909 and 1921. They are minted in Philidelphia and Sanfransico, but some have been minted in carson city and new orleans. I cant see any mint mark on yours, so its philidelphia. I would say its au-58 to Ms- 61 we need better pics.

I'd say your talking 30-50 dollars retail.

hunt1 - I finding it interesting that you are now grading coins and giving people advice on how much a coin is worth when, based on some of your recent posts, it appears that you are a newbie since you seemed to have no clue as to the value of your morgan and then admitted it was probably cleaned and you overpaid for it. May I suggest you take the advice of several other posters and take the time to do your homework on coin collecting before giving advice to others.

There is nothing wrong with trying to be helpful but it appears as if you are now trying to promote yourself as an expert which is a bit misleading especially to other newbies such as yourself. It is very easy for people to misrepresent themselves on the internet due to the anonomous nature of the beast so my advice is to not be naive and to try to be who you are and not who you want to pretend to be.

It is good to be ambitious and inquisitive about a new hobby but be patient and listen to those who have experience and gain that experience yourself before imparting that to others. Good luck with your learning experience and be patient as knowledge is gained in small steps, not leaps and bounds. :smile

The OP listed it as a 1855 napolean III empereur so IMHO the date is 1855.

Flex... the pictures of the deux centime coin aren't very clear, but I've got an 1856 just like that. Mine has a "W" under the eagle and yours appears to have a "A"....
So, what does that mean?....damifino.... I'm new to coin collecting.

W is minted in Lille and A in Paris. In 1855 there are 2 different privy marks, the dogs head or the anchor. not much difference in value, the dogs head is $2.00 in Fine condition and the anchor is $3.00
