Strange proof half dollar 1984-S

    Im wondering what could possibly have caused the lines on the field of this coin and not affect any of the struck details? Found it roll searching a while back and I don't know what to think of it. :confused: Ive never seen anything like this one before. Sorry for poor pictures couldn't get any good lighting.[​IMG]

    you can see marks on the back of JFK's head. looks like a kid was bored in school and made lines with a protractor or something sharp.

    post mint damage.

    Things like this always make be think of practice pieces for machine operators and engravers.

    :confused:I took it to my coinshop and he had no idea what could be or what could of caused it. A good conversation piece I suppose

    look at the back of JFK's head, you can see marks on top of the head, on the surface of the coin. post mint damage, period, end of story.
