Strange proof half dollar 1984-S

Im wondering what could possibly have caused the lines on the field of this coin and not affect any of the struck details? Found it roll searching a while back and I don't know what to think of it. Ive never seen anything like this one before. Sorry for poor pictures couldn't get any good lighting.

you can see marks on the back of JFK's head. looks like a kid was bored in school and made lines with a protractor or something sharp.

 

only logical explanation:

post mint damage.

what or how?

No clue.

 

Things like this always make be think of practice pieces for machine operators and engravers.

 

I took it to my coinshop and he had no idea what could be or what could of caused it. A good conversation piece I suppose

 

Got caught/jammed in a counting machine (spun)



Maybe Jack thought he was back on the PT-109?

 

Given the number of replies for this nearly two day old thread, I don't think it's even a good conversation piece.

 

looks like someone tried to give it artificial cartwheel

 

look at the back of JFK's head, you can see marks on top of the head, on the surface of the coin. post mint damage, period, end of story.

 

Will the marks rub off? Just curious
