Think they're going to skyrocket? Hope so, but who knows. I'll be waiting to see the final sales figures, which are already more than the 2008 satins. Of course the 2009 sets have the 4 different bronze cents.

Why are the LP1 Rolls going for $60+ on ebay and LP2 is about $25? Is it because LP1 had a lower mintage? If so will the LP4 Rolls Skyrocket like the LP1 rolls?

LP1 mintage one third of LP2. LP4 (mint boxes) not going to move either.

LP-1 Rolls sold out fast because the mint limited them to 96k p&d roll sets the mint was caught off guard on the 1st one so they changed the ordering limit to as many as they could sell on LP-2,LP-3,LP-4 And the $60+ rolls on ebay are in the special wraped papper not obw rolls I dont buy papper for 60+ dollars and never will unless the coins are unique & the mintages on these cents are far from unique with the exception of the 95% coppers !

The 2009 sets are Gone. I think the 2009 Mint set "U09" is the winner this year. I'm guessing its going to double. The eight 2009 95% copper cents now have the lowest LINCOLN mintage 2 thru 9 less then 800,000. The number one is 1909s VDB with 484,000 and number ten is the 1931s with 866,000 mintage which has a price tag of $95 in GOOD condition. Also the 2009 95% uncs are a type coin.

A cheap way of grabbing these 8 satin coins is on the bay; that have been chopped from mint sets. They're selling for $12 plus shipping.

What about the 2008 P&D satin Lincolns? The 2008's have lower mintages than the 2009's at around 745,000 and have already tripled/quadrupled in price. Don't get me wrong, I like the 2009's, but the 2008's are the lower mintage and the lowest of the Lincoln Memorial Series.

Now, if only Whitman et al will list them separately and provide holes for them in their folders/albums, the prices could soar.

Satin from the mint sets only would, but also got a couple of Billion of them issued for circulation. 2009 is 95% copper.

I don't know, I think the composition matters, but equally or more important is the finish (satin). As of now, both 2008 and 2009 holes can be filled with business strike coins. Anyway you look at it, the 2008 and 2009 mint set satin coins are unique from circulation business strike coins, thus their mintages should be considered separately from business strikes. And, for that matter, let's throw in the 2005's to 2007's, they're all unique from business strikes and represent the lowest mintages for the Memorial series, which ended in 2008.

Statequarterguy: I just looked at some UNC sets and I never could see a satin finish in the new sets since 2005. The UNC coins all look like MS68+ to me. If the SMS/satin coins are added to the coin folders then the 2010 UNC set will have the lowest mintage(taking away eight coins and increasing the price by "I think Five bucks").

You need to look at them closer. Most collectors, as well as the TPG'ers recognize the difference. Right, most are SMS68's, so the 69's & 70's are the more rare (same with the 2009's) and they are darn close to matte proofs. Since most do recognize the satins as a distinct variety (regardless of whether or not they like them), you can't simply claim the 2009 is the only one that counts and place it in the order you did for rarity.

Now that said, I do like the 2009's, they have a lot going for them - the bronze color with the satin finish along with the 4 different types and what appears to be a low mintage. I don't know, do you think they broke 800k? Either way, they will be a contender for the highest price with the 2008's. But that doesn't mean you can disregard the lower mintage 2008, which is a recognized variety.

Not sure what the 2010 set has to do with this.

The 8 cents cut out of the mint set went from $8.95 to $12.95 since discontinuation.

Yes, starting to move a little. Sure would like to see the final sales on those. I usually, google it and look for a recently dated post, to find the most recent sales figures. Anyone have a better way?

Hmm, maybe that's all the mint made and there was a sell out. But, that seems like a low number to make, you'd think the mint would expect to sell more with the 8 cents in the set.

Thanks for the link. When I google, that's the site that I usually find, but for some reason, that June 29th report isn't being found by google.

I purchased some Mint sets on 15th or 14th. The numbers should of gone up just a little bit.
