I'm making a separate thread so the moderator can delete it If I'm violating the board restriction on using this thread for buying and selling offers. I've seen the comments on your products on this board and am having no luck finding an up to date source through Google Search for them. Could you help me out without violating the board rules? Perhaps I'm not looking in the right place?
That's the only one I could come up with and it appears to be out of date and doesn't include his new products.
Primarily the Verdi-care line and whether there are occasions that Verdi-gone might be a better choice. Also, perhaps some small coin size dishes for soaking like the sample dishes in chemistry. A recommended prep solvent perhaps. Recommendations on the use of distilled water, xylene, acetone, etc in conjunction with the use of his products, etc. I want to know what I'm doing before I even think about conserving some old coppers in dire need of conservation.
I don't clean coins, so I can't help you there. This is just an observation, but I don't think you should go to the expense of buying petri dishes. If you're going to use something like acetone, it would be better to have a jar with a lid so it can be sealed. Chris
Bad thad posted on the open section a little while back, here is the link to his open posting, http://www.cointalk.com/t113092/ I do not know how often he visits coin talk, but you also might wish to pm him for more information, tho I do like that you posted a thread so others might learn from the exchange.
At one time Thad mentioned maybe eliminating the Verdi-gone product since he was getting such good results on verdigris removal with the verdi-care. I don't know if he has changed his mind or if Wizard is just trying to sell old all Verdi-gone stock first.
I guess it's hard for me to imagine that any product can be both an effective verdigris remover AND a coin preserver. It just seems at some point, the existing verdigris has to be removed before it's sealed. Then, I wonder how to handle the coin which has already lost toning. Will the conservation fluid prevent natural re-toning? It's hard for me to take the leap, but I have several that either get help or dissolve back into copper ore.
Thad can certainly answer any questions here without breaking forum rules. But I think he has pretty well answered most of them if you just read what you find on that web site that Jim posted. Try reading this Marshall - http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/files/images/Verdi-Care-FAQ.pdf http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/files/images/Verdi-Care-Instructions.pdf Not being familiar with the product myself I cannot speak about its effectivness. But one problem that I could forsee with some coins would be the use of a cloth to apply the chemical. Cloth, regardless of how soft it is, can hairline a coin.
Sorry, I just now saw this. Looks like everyone else has already helped you. VERDI-GONE™ is being discontinued because VERDI-CARE™ is a vastly superior product. Please read all of the documentation before using the product. It will answer most of your questions and concerns. If I can be of further help, please ask. Thanks
No need to imagine! VERDI-CARE™ is a unique product unlike anything else ever. Verdigris is removed and, at the same time, the metallic surface is covered in a invisible, semi-permanent, anti-corrosion, molecular layer of ReAcT2™. VERDI-CARE™ will not retone the coin and, in fact, will protect a coin from toning. Please read the product documentation for more information. Thanks
