Just trying to have some fun here so I'm gonna try to set up a poll. It's really simple all you have to do is pick the answer that is right for you. You can add comments if you want, or not. Alrighty then, let's do this.

If you had only one choice of coins to collect which one would it be?,

I want to collect the non-modern coins.

I also forgot to specifically mention Ancients and I know there's quite a few ppl who collect them. You are certainly free to post what you collect and that way maybe other's collect the same and will follow your lead. [IMG]

I am surprised that there isn't a higher amount of votes for modern, maybe with this bump up things will change. Also I didn't expain why I chose older coinage. The reason is because I love the older designs and I hope I don't ruffle any feathers here, but there is not a whole lot of money to be made with moderns unless of course you get that one in a million MS70. It's a bit difficult to post comments because you don't want to feel like you're trashing what someone else collects but at the same time this is supposed to be educational, right? :kewl:

Yes I have some moderns as well but there are mitigating circumstances involved! :D Just recently bought a small collection, very nice with plenty of pre-65 quarters. The seller wanted to sell the complete set only and of course it had a set of the State quarters and other moderns as well. I'm happy with the collection because of the pre-65's and the foreigns, fortunately my wife collects the State quarters and the other newbies I can sell or give to my son. I have bought some moderns from the US mint in the past year (only been collecting 1yr) but after the last 2 commemoratives (I didn't buy them), there just isn't any money in it and most of the new designs suck immensely, IMHO. :vanish:

My favorite moderns have to be the Sacagawea Dollars. I picked up 2 PF69 DC last week.

Yup, that's the one everyone seems to like. I have a roll of 2009's and around 15 year 2000 in one of the binders. It's a nice design for sure!! [IMG]

I put pre 65 down, but I am picking up nice moderns I find in rolls or in circulation, plus I have been picking up the proof sets and the mint sets. My problem is I like too many coins.

It is nice to see the mint can put out decently designed coins, shame its few and far between.:rolling:

You folks who collect world coins amaze me. I was watching a thread the other day where someone had posted photos of a coin from china and there were members identifying the characters on the coin. Thought that was fascinating. Dont know how you keep track of em all.
