    Ardatirion Où est mon poisson

This was the coin that got me back into collecting, after taking a hiatus in highschool. I was finally able to take a passable picture of it, so I figured I'd share it here. References or comments appreciated!

I still think it could be fake, I've yet to be convinced either way.

The UND website has a significant amount of information regarding these issues. These are terrific coins and I think yours is real, though I have not attempted to attribute the die marriage.

These aren't my strong point, but a quick glance at the Marris images makes me think it might be a 43d.

    Indeed, nice Nova Caesaria :)
I can see why this would get you back into collecting.

I concur with Tom. These look real to me, I don't see anything that would make me suspect otherwise.

Do you have a weight and diameter of the specimen handy?

Right now I'm out and on a very slow connection. But as I love early americans, I want to attribute it too. I'll post my thoughts later tonite.

Unfortunately, no. I'll be moving out in a month, so my ruler and most of my references are packed away. I just gave in and opened a box of books tonight, so maybe I'll dig out the ruler tomorrow.

    Thanks for looking!

Quick glance is right... by my clock, you attributed this specimen correctly in 7 minutes! Indeed it's a Maris-43.d. Sheesh Tom, you're good! :thumb:

Did Ardy just post in the US COINS FORUM ? :D

That coin is pretty neat, that shield on the reverse is a lot better than the one we have on today's cents... :D
I like the obverse too and best part it isn't dirt! :)
    Very cool man, very cool
