I would like to know how many years are there for the $2 bill.

I know there are many in circulation already that have the year 1976 and 2003.

If there are other years, what are them?

Also I am looking for a $2 bill with the year 1986 for a friend collector whose birthyear is 1986 for his upcomming birthday gift, but couldn't find it other than just the Canadian 1986 $2 bill and it is not what I am looking for. I would like to have the $2 bill with the year 1986 on it if it does exist.

If you can help, let me know.

    Thanks.

I think you are out of luck. They printed them in 1976 and not again until 1996 but I believe were dated 1995. Just trying to go from memory but you should be able to find it on the us bureau of engraving web site.

yup, the date on paper money does not necessarily correspond with the date of printing.

    1928 and 1928 a-g, 1952 and 1953 a-c, 1963 & 1963a, 1976, 1995, 2003 & 2003a. You could get a US $2 with a S/N starting in 1986

I know in the later notes the series number corresponds to the year of a change. So the 2009 series is because Tim became the new treasury secretary, and 2006 is when Paulson became treasury secretary. They continue using the same series until another change occurs.
