I don't really care about sports, but the rumor is their is some big football tournament going on in South Africa. In honor of such, I thought I would post these recent pictures from Bob. It's fully PL, but graded by PCGS so not designated:

I am. And the U.S soccer team has just scored a goal (9:11 pm) to tie England 1:1.
    Go USA!

I watch way too many sports but only watch soccer every four years, when it's World Cup time. U.S.A. just scored on a terrible mistake by the English goaltender. Sweet!:hail:
And Eduard, if you're German, thanks for the support.:hail:

Football??? That doesn't start up for another few months???

    ;)

I just can't get into soccer... Just browsing the first few results of the tournament.

    0-0 and a 1-1 tie last night
1-1 tie in the U.S. game today

Get a darn tie-breaker or an overtime or something and it might be more interesting. I couldn't imagine sitting through a couple hours of a 0-0 game that ends in a tie w/o a single goal... no thanks.

Yeah, if they adopted a format similar to the WWE or WCW, it might be interesting.

Even better yet - why not create a North American variety of football that has totally different rules, is played in the US and few other countries only, and is called "football" in the US, even though the feet of the players play a relatively minor role? :D

FWIW, this coin will be issued in Germany next year ...

Watched at least part of every game so far.

Considering the amount of time I've spent in Europe and Asia on business, and the fact that all my customers are overseas, I'd be foolish to ignore the World Cup, or soccer in general.

    I have been.
In fact Germany vs. Australia starts in about 10 minutes.
But this is probably going to wear thin for me.
Lots of running around but no scoring.
Only thing that will keep me interested will be if the US continues.
If/When they fall out of the competition most of my interest will be gone.

I watch the cup. It makes it so I have something to discuss with my coworkers. You never saw a bunch of guys so down when south africa was up 1 to nil, when Mexico scored a goal one of the guys skipped and jumped like he was 8 years old, it was fun to see.

It is sort of sad that for nations that put so much into soccer that they cannot win and here most americans could not care less for the game and they tie mighty Ingland. hehee

Who do you guys think is going to win the world cup? I say Spain, Brazil or Germany. I hope Holland makes it far though.

I'm a big sports guy. I only watch soccer every two years (Olympics and World Cup) but so far I have enjoyed all the games I've seen.

Well, they had a good start (2-0) today. By the way, here is another World Cup commem - issued in DE 2004 for the '06 Cup. I like that one because it is at least a little humorous, with a football orbiting our planet. :)

Until last night - too much going on with college football (conference realignment) for me to give much attention to the other sport called football.
