Absolutely impossible to grade anything from those images. And you might want to edit the title of your post - I think you meant 1878.
Can't really tell anything from those photos. I wouldn't even want to throw a grade out there, but I can say that coin, from the reverse photos does look like it has been polished. Better photos would be needed to determine if it has been cleaned and the grade of the coin.
You can't. Wait until you can get your camera to work, a webcam isn't the best thing to take pictures with, when determining the grade of a coin.
It looks like it was cleaned or wiped, but that is truly a guess based upon the "feel" of the coin in the images.
If you notice, there appears to be dirt or grime in and around the letters and the wreath, but the fields are bright white. Granted, these photos aren't too good, but that is usually an indication that the coin has been cleaned. Chris
Has this been cleaned or polished? Ok i took better quality pics this time with a digital camera, has this 1878 morgan 8TF been cleaned or polished if possible try and grade i know you probably cant but give a wild guess. It was graded by dealer as VF.
The images are mighty tough to interpret. It still has a cleaned, wiped or polished "feel" to me, though again the images are tough to figure out.
No, I'm not certain and this is at least partially due to the images. However, the piece seems to have glossy surfaces that are consistent with previously boinked coinage.
