I have a box of coins that I received from my grandpa a while ago, and I'm not sure of its contents. I believe it is presidential dollars, but I am not sure.

    The box reads 2x5
    SN: 7 04785 052383 3
    9814
    14:21
    05/18/06

If anyone has any suggestions as to what may be inside, thanks! I don't want open in fear that it may reduce its value.

I doubt opening it will reduce its value since at this point its value is 0 because you dont know whats inside.

maybe someone could tell you. try googling the numbers one at a time?

aso I doubt the value would go down unless you touched the sorface of the possible coins and they received PMD.

  4. I do not think they are Presidential dollars. That series started in 2007 and the box is dated in 2006. I am wondering if they are nickel or quarter rolls. TC

    P & D Nickel rolls.

I know this because of the "2X5"

I can't say if they are Mont. or the westward journey though.

Based on the date - 2006, they gotta be regular nickels. Or should I say "new" regular nickels.

why not a set of States quarters, 5 states per year, 2 mints=
    2X5?

They are the 2006 Return to Monticello 2-Roll set. I have the Mint invoice.

That sounds right. I do remember him buying me these at one point, and I did find another box which contains presidential dollars. With that being said, since this is an original mint box, would it reduce value opening it?

Opening the box, no it shouldn't. The rolls, if they're the decorative roll wrappers from the Mint, it might. It all depends on if you want to search the rolls looking for errors, or rareties.
