The reason I am asking is that dealers usually tend to specialize somewhat. So depending on what you want, I'd send you to different places. For example if you wanted copper I'd tell you to contact The Penny Lady, a dealer and member here. For general stuff I'd say to contact LostDutchman, another dealer and member here. For Morgans, gold, classics - probably Mark Feld, another member & dealer here. Every one of them gets my highest recommendation !

You can also refer to this thread - Coin Dealers - I've personally dealt with every one of those dealers many times and would recommend them to anyone. But they are not all going to have what you want. But if I knew what you wanted, I could pin it down.

You may want to pay particular interest to the electronic dealer networks I've linked to. Private individuals can buy there as well, for a fee. But the fee typically pays for itself in your first purchase. I've used them many times as well.

Probably the biggest problem you will have is finding what you want for $1000 or less. With better coins, a $1000 doesn't go very far.

Heritage is a very good source for auctions --- they are good on payments too if you need to do long term payments -- normal is 4 months...

a family member of mine is legacy member @ heritage and has 6/mo to do payments -- but he is nuts.

there are a lot of other places, but ha.com is one of the best and their staff is very nice.
