Saudi Arabian 1 Riyal...what year is this?

    Hi, would anyone have any idea what year this is? I have no clue. I couldn't find it on some web sites. Thank you!

    Yes as ikandiggit says 1984. The date on the note (highlighted near the top right hand corner) is in Arabic (AH)1379.

    that is a lot cooler looking of a note then my saudi one riyal!

    mine just has a building on one side and a palm tree with crossed swords under it. i think its a 1959. i got to look it up

    Hi panda
    Does your note look like this? If so then the first issue was 1968. All Saudi notes have AH1379 (1959) on the obverse. Something to do with when the country was unified under Sa'ud Ibn Abdul Aziz (ruled 1953-1964).

    yea, that is exactly it! thanks, all i could make out of the language was the date, and figured it was 1959:eek:

    i better mark that on the holder its in!
