Hello, I'm new here. I'm helping a friend try to determine the value on some bills that she was given a long time ago. We think they may be valuable in particular because it appears to be a misprint of a star bill. I have much higher res scans as well, if they will help. Sorry about the crooked face scan, I haven't had a chance to straighten it. Thanks!
The back plate number looks to be a 2 digit number...it's very hard to see. If it is up to 112 it is a non mule and value would be around $200-$250 in that condition. If the back plate number is 113 or higher.. it will be a $1000 note..but like I said it appears to be a non mule. The plate number is located in the far right center inside edge of the ornamental design..almost the height as the last tree on the right..just use your finger and go to the right side of the note and you will see it. Yep, that is what RickieB was talking about. Still not a value for an old worn note! Have to love the old Star Notes! Good Luck ~ Darryl
How does one tell if it's mule or not? Is a straight measurement fine? I measured the images on the front and back, from the boarder of each image, and the face side is: 149mm X 62mm and the other side is: 144mm X 57mm Thanks!
1934 notes have small plate numbers. 1934A notes have larger plate numbers. A note with one size plate number on one side and the other on the opposite side is a mule. Your note has small plate numbers front and back, so it's a non-mule.
